Enjoy learning to make art with your iPad in a painterly way. This workshop will combine the technical with the artistic. Learn techniques and tools for creating rich, expressive, colorful paintings, making use of the premier pro drawing and painting app, Procreate 4, and it’s versatile brushes and powerful layers. You do need any art training or technical background to take this class. Whether you are completely new to drawing and painting, or are a practicing artist, you’ll find this workshop an enjoyable, educational and inspiring experience that will equip you with the skills and insights to make the most of your iPad as a fabulous portable art studio!

In this workshop you will learn:

  • Setting your iPad up for art;

  • Starting a new project – options and ideas;

  • Brushes – how to choose, control, customize, save, import, export, organize them;

  • Color – alternative ways to choose, pick and save color;

  • Photos and backgrounds – how to open, insert and import photos;

  • Layers – how to work with, and fully understand, layers, blending modes, masks and AlphaLock;

  • Selecting and Transforming – how to select and transform (rescale, distort and move) sections of your drawing;

  • Time-lapse recording – how to record, replay and export your process;

  • Saving and sharing – how to save, share and export your art;

Workshop fee is $199, includes extra custom Procreate brushes created by Jeremy (which are also available by joining his subscription web site PaintboxTV.com).

What To Bring With You to Class

A fully charged iPad (ideally iPad Pro with Apple Pencil, also fully charged) with the latest iOS and the latest version of the app Procreate 4. For more art app suggestions please see iPad Art Tools. I recommend exploring and experimenting with art apps to find the ones that resonate with your style and workflow.
