In a Nutshell
This is a four week Corel Painter Online Workshop taught remotely via real-time interactive Zoom sessions, meeting once a week on Fridays. In this workshop you will learn how to master the latest version of Corel Painter, the incredibly powerful and deep digital painting and creativity tool that works on a Mac or Windows computer and is used in conjunction with a pressure-sensitive graphics pen tablet such as a Wacom Intuos Pro Medium (or you could use an iPad as a secondary display with a Mac in “sidecar” mode).
Beyond the technical mastery of Corel Painter, a pre-requisite to freeing yourself up to express yourself on the digital canvas, you will also learn artistic skills and practice applying the basic principles of art – the principles of composition, of light/dark contrasts, of atmospheric perspective and color contrasts and interactions – to your digital paintings. The goal of this course is to empower you to fulfill your creative visions and create expressive digital fine art that uniquely reflects your interests, viewpoint and style.
Assignments will be given each week and feedback given on the results. Session times are 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Pacific, with ten minute break. Slack will be used for communication, Q&A and sharing within the class between sessions and a Padlet gallery will be used for posting homework assignments.
