Enjoy learning to make art with your iPad in a painterly way. With a combination of instruction, demo and practice, we will work with the iPad primarily using the apps Procreate and Art Rage. We’ll start out working from still life and then work from the figure in the afternoon. Sharpen your drawing and painting skills, and learn how to use the iPad in a painterly way, both working from direct observation and from photo reference. Learn techniques and tools for creating quick, loose sketches and rich, expressive, colorful paintings. Whether you are completely new to painting, returning to it after a gap, or are a practicing artist, this workshop will be enjoyable, educational and inspiring experience!
The syllabus will include:
A deep understanding of the user interface;
How to choose, control, customize, save and organize brushes;
How to pick color and adjust brush stroke opacity and size;
How to import, and work with, photos and backgrounds;
How to record and replay your process;
How to save, share and export your artworks;
Practical aspects of using your iPad out in the field – what you’ll want in your iPad art kit.
