Understanding the Brain: Memory & Reasoning

2 hour 2 minutes

The Portrait Conversation, Episode 17, features special guest Dr. Daniel C. McNamee, neuroscientist working on theoretical models of memory circuits as well as abstract models of thought processes during reasoning etc.

Daniel grew up in the beautiful port town of Malahide in Ireland, attended Trinity College Dublin, earned a doctorate in Computation and Neural Systems at Caltech, followed by a research fellowship at University College London. We will discuss how he became fascinated with understanding complex systems, leading to his research in understanding the brain. We’ll learn about the recent exciting breakthroughs in neural research and his own fascinating areas of research. This will be a very stimulating and mind-expanding conversation!
